From mild to complex cases, braces are an effective tool used to efficiently and precisely align your teeth and jaw. Along your treatment journey, your orthodontist may use a variety of specialty appliances in combination with traditional braces to perfect the overall fit and function of the teeth and jaw while achieving your desired smile results.

Traditional braces

Braces include metal or ceramic brackets that are securely bonded to your teeth and connected with a nickel-titanium wire. The wires are held in place with ligatures or elastic bands, in a choice of colors that let you create a fun look that’s all your own.

Palatal expander

A palatal expander is a static appliance used to create additional room to allow permanent teeth to properly align. Every time you turn the expander, gentle pressure is applied on your molars, expanding the palate and jaw so your teeth will fit together better.

Interarch bands

Interarch bands are a type of rubber bands used to correct misaligned bites and alignment of the jaw. The bands are typically worn on each side of the mouth, and they connect your upper jaw to the lower jaw in a specific configuration unique for your bite correction.

Ceramic braces

Similar to traditional braces, ceramic braces are bonded to your teeth in the same way. The difference between traditional metal and ceramic braces is the bracket material which are clear and ceramic – making the braces virtually invisible!

If the timing is right to begin your active orthodontic treatment, we’ll schedule your first appointment during your initial consultation. This visit will generally last about an hour, allowing your doctor to place your braces and new orthodontic appliances, review diet, hygiene, and any special care instructions. You’ll continue to visit our office every eight to ten weeks so we can monitor and refine your smile progression. Our convenient office hours and locations make orthodontic appointments easy to fit into your schedule – and our team is always focused on making your visits fun!
